How is this better than a shared spreadsheet?+

Do employees need training?+
No — the whole flow is: open the map, tap a free desk, confirm. First-time users activate their account with a one-time e-mail code; nobody hands out passwords.
Can we mix assigned and shared desks?+
Yes. Any desk can be a hot desk, a hoteling desk bookable in advance, or an assigned desk with a named owner — mixed freely on the same floor.
