Gable and Desk & Park overlap in one job: booking desks and meeting rooms in an office you already have. Gable prices that module at $4 per bookable resource per month (Gable Essentials, per gable.to/pricing in October 2026), lists parking only in its custom-priced Pro plan, and sells something Desk & Park does not offer at all: on-demand access to third-party coworking spaces in 900+ cities. Desk & Park charges a flat plan by the number of objects: 100 desks, parking spots and rooms fit the Pro plan at 2,300 USD a year, parking and EV charger spots included, against at least 4,800 USD a year for the same 100 resources at Gable's published Essentials rate.

Hybrid work in 2026 follows a pattern most workplace teams recognise: Tuesday to Thursday the office is full and people circle the car park, Monday and Friday whole rows of desks stay empty.

Gable comes at this from the flexible-workspace side. According to its own information page, it was founded in 2020 in San Francisco as an on-demand marketplace for coworking spaces near where employees live, and has since grown into a workplace platform with desk and room booking, visitor management, space planning, analytics and Gable AI — one dataset for the owned office and a global flex network. Desk & Park comes from the owned-office side, with parking as a first-class object, and sells no access to third-party spaces. This comparison therefore covers where the two meet — booking inside your own buildings — and says plainly where Gable's extra category is the reason to choose it.

Chart: annual cost of Gable Essentials and Desk & Park Pro for 100 bookable objects as headcount grows from 50 to 400

Both vendors price by bookable resource, so neither line moves with headcount; the gap comes from the rate per resource and from what each tier includes. Gable figure: Essentials list price, October 2026.

Pricing and total cost of ownership

Take a typical mid-sized hybrid office: 175 employees, 75 desks, 20 parking spots (4 of them with EV chargers) and 5 meeting rooms — 100 bookable objects in total.

Gable. The pricing page lists two plans for the office module. Gable Essentials costs $4 per bookable resource per month and includes desk and room booking with interactive maps, analytics, Slack, Microsoft Teams and HRIS integrations, iOS and Android apps, SSO and SOC 2. Gable Pro is "custom pricing" per bookable resource and adds Gable AI, space planning, role-based access control, badge and Wi-Fi integrations, two-way calendar sync, an open API, package delivery and parking. Taking the published entry price — the assumption most favourable to Gable — for all 100 resources:

  • 100 resources × $4 = $400 per month = $4,800 per year.
  • The page does not say whether the $4 assumes monthly or annual billing, or whether it excludes sales tax.
  • Parking appears only in Pro, whose rate is not published, so $4,800 is a floor; desks and rooms alone (80 resources) would be $3,840 per year.
  • Gable's pricing FAQ states there is no set-up fee. Visitor Management is an optional add-on at $199 per location per month ($249 on Pro), left out of the scenario.

Desk & Park. 100 objects fit the Pro plan (up to 125 objects, 10 locations): 2,300 USD per year with annual billing, or 230 USD per month. Users are unlimited, parking and EV spots are objects like any desk, and there is no fee for floor plans or setup.

Scenario: 100 bookable objectsPer year
Gable Essentials, 100 × $4 × 12 (floor; parking needs Pro)4,800 USD
Gable Essentials, desks and rooms only, 80 × $4 × 123,840 USD
Desk & Park Pro, annual billing2,300 USD
Desk & Park Pro, monthly billing (12 × 230)2,760 USD

Against the $4,800 floor, Desk & Park Pro on annual billing costs 2,500 USD less per year — 52 % less. Even against desks and rooms only, without any parking, the difference is 1,540 USD (40 %). All figures are in USD, so no currency conversion is involved.

The structure is the same, the rate is not. Both vendors charge for spaces, not users, so growing from 175 to 250 people changes neither bill. Adding objects does: going from 100 to 125 adds $100 a month at Gable ($6,000 a year) and nothing at Desk & Park, because 125 objects are still the Pro plan. At 100 objects Desk & Park works out at about 1.92 USD per object per month (2,300 ÷ 12 ÷ 100), against Gable's $4.

Not in the TCO. Gable On-Demand is billed separately as "subscription plus usage": an annual platform fee (amount not published) plus bookings invoiced at the end of each month, with no prepaid credits. Coworking desks in other cities are spend Desk & Park cannot replace.

Architecture, security and data protection

Desk & Park. Every customer organisation gets its own PostgreSQL database: no tables shared with other customers, backups and erasure per organisation, and an incident in one database does not touch another. Databases run in Frankfurt and the application in the Netherlands. Backups are encrypted nightly, and an audit log records who did what. Every user can sign in with two-factor authentication (TOTP), passkeys (WebAuthn) or a one-time e-mail code. Single sign-on uses OpenID Connect (Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Okta and other OIDC providers) and SCIM provisioning and deprovisioning (Entra ID, Okta) — on every plan, including the free one. Data export and deletion requests are in the settings, and a data processing agreement is published.

The honest gaps: Desk & Park supports no SAML (OIDC only), and ISO 27001 and SOC 2 are planned, not certified. If your security questionnaire requires an audit report today, that is a real limitation.

Gable. Its security page states that its security protocols have been audited by independent third parties to SOC 2 Type II, and that it complies with GDPR and CCPA. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit, daily backups are kept in different regions, and the uptime target is 99.7 %. SSO works through SAML and OpenID Connect, the information page lists custom SCIM, and the pricing page puts "SSO & SOC 2" in Essentials (role-based access control is Pro). The subprocessor list names Amazon Web Services for hosting and database storage; the pages we checked state neither the hosting region nor whether customers share a database — ask in writing if it matters.

On certifications and SAML Gable is ahead today; on EU hosting and per-customer database isolation only Desk & Park publishes an answer.

Features 07–10 of the Top 10 Desk & Park features: the room tablet, reports, integrations and EU data protection — included in the plan price, not sold as modules.

Employee experience and team coordination

Desk & Park runs in any browser and installs as a PWA, with nothing to download from a store; an Android app adds a native QR scanner, fingerprint or face unlock and push notifications. The iOS app is planned for 2027. Scanning the QR sticker of a free desk books it and checks you in with one tap.

"Who's in the office" shows each booked person's photo or initials ringed in their team colour, with a green dot once checked in, and today's roster grouped by team. The company can switch it off and anyone can hide themselves, enforced on the server. Parking has its own maps (garage and surface lot, for example), EV charger spots are marked ⚡, and a desk and parking spot booked together arrive as one calendar invitation. Board members keep assigned spaces and hand them back for the day with "I'm away today" (feature 06 of the Top 10). Interface and e-mails come in 10 languages.

Gable has iOS and Android apps and booking from the web, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Gmail and Outlook. Its floor plans show availability and which teammates are in and where they sit; employees see colleagues' weekly plans; admins set neighbourhoods, assigned and hot desks, booking on behalf and approvals. Check-in works by QR, NFC, mobile, badge or Wi-Fi, with automatic release of unclaimed reservations. Parking is listed among Pro features; EV spots are not mentioned on the pages we checked.

Both cover the core: find a desk on a map, see the team, check in. Gable is broader in channels (iOS today, Gmail and Outlook); Desk & Park puts parking and EV spots on every plan and needs no install.

Space optimisation, reports and AI

The quiet cost of hybrid work is the ghost booking: a desk or parking spot reserved and never used. In Desk & Park, a desk or parking booking not checked in by your organisation's deadline (for example "check in by 10:00") returns to the pool automatically. Meeting rooms are released only if the organisation turns that on (off by default, after 5 to 120 minutes without a check-in); scanning the QR code of a free room books the next half hour.

Board Reports measure occupancy against the seats that could actually be booked, the no-show (ghost) rate per floor and resource, usage by department and team, EV charging demand and peak day, for any range from 7 days to a year, with CSV export. AI recommendations work like this: an administrator clicks "Generate report", a large language model receives aggregates only (no employee names) and returns 3–6 recommendations — cost saving, space consolidation, EV optimisation, ghost booking alerts, board member impact, ESG, capacity planning — each with a model-written impact estimate. The board triages them with Dismiss or Mark as done, recorded in the audit log. This is not predictive forecasting, and Desk & Park does not calculate savings or costs: the impact estimate is the model's hypothesis to verify.

Gable includes workplace analytics on both plans: utilisation by office, floor, neighbourhood, department and team, and — its distinctive angle — headquarters and flex-space data in one view, including spend. With badge and Wi-Fi integrations (Pro) it compares booked with actual attendance. Gable AI, a natural-language assistant over your Gable data, and space planning (stack plans, move management) are Pro features.

Verdict: which one fits your company

Gable is the better fit if your people are spread across cities without an office nearby and need coworking desks and rooms on demand, with budgets per person, department or location and one monthly invoice. It also fits an enterprise whose security review needs a SOC 2 Type II report and SAML today, wants an iOS app from day one, or needs space planning, a visitor kiosk, badge and Wi-Fi presence and an open API from one vendor. Its on-demand network is also sold standalone, so it can run alongside another booking tool.

Desk & Park is the better fit if you work mainly from your own offices and car parks, want parking and EV spots on the same map as desks on every plan, prefer a price on the page (100 objects: 2,300 USD a year) to a per-resource rate with parking in a custom tier, need your data in the EU in a database of your own, and want one administrator to set it up in an afternoon rather than in a 1–3-week project.

FAQ

Is Desk & Park cheaper than Gable?

For booking in your own office, yes. For 100 bookable objects Gable Essentials costs at least 4,800 USD a year at its published $4 per resource per month, with parking only in the custom-priced Pro plan; Desk & Park Pro costs 2,300 USD a year with annual billing, parking included — 2,500 USD (52 %) less.

Does Desk & Park offer coworking spaces like Gable On-Demand?

No. Desk & Park manages the desks, parking spots and rooms in your own buildings and sells no access to third-party spaces. Gable On-Demand lists 17,000+ coworking spaces in 900+ cities and bills an annual platform fee plus bookings as used, so a distributed team that needs flex space should evaluate it.

Which one supports SAML and SOC 2?

Gable states SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and CCPA compliance and supports SSO through SAML and OpenID Connect, per its security page in October 2026. Desk & Park supports OpenID Connect and SCIM on every plan, including the free one, but no SAML, and its ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications are planned, not completed.

How long does setup take?

Desk & Park's onboarding guide quotes 60–90 minutes for one office: one administrator, six self-serve steps, no implementation call. Gable's pricing FAQ says implementation and onboarding typically take 1–3 weeks, with no set-up fee.

Can employees book parking in both tools?

Yes, on different terms. Gable lists parking among Gable Pro features, priced on request. In Desk & Park parking and EV charger spots are bookable objects on every plan, with their own maps, QR check-in and automatic release.
