Desk & Park vs Zoom Workplace for desk and parking booking
Zoom Workspace Reservation is an add-on inside the Zoom client. Desk & Park is a browser app for physical spaces: desks, parking, EV chargers, QR check-in.

Zoom Workspace Reservation is the desk and room booking feature of Zoom Workplace, a video and collaboration suite; it is sold as an add-on per user per month (listed at 1.25–1.50 USD per user, included with some Zoom bundles, per zoom.com in October 2026) and lives inside the Zoom client. Desk & Park is a stand-alone workplace management application for physical spaces: desks, parking spots, EV chargers and meeting rooms on an interactive map, booked from a phone browser and checked in by scanning a printed QR sticker, with automatic release of what is not used. The choice is between adding booking to a video suite you already pay for and running the office on a tool built for the office.

A physical check-in for physical spaces
The hard part of a hybrid office is not booking a desk; it is what happens when the person does not come. Desk & Park answers it with a QR sticker on every desk and parking spot: the booking is checked in by scanning it, from a window of 60 minutes before to 60 minutes after the start, and a booking not checked in is released automatically. Scanning a free space books it to the end of the day in one step. The sticker costs nothing, needs no device on the wall and works for a visitor's phone as well as an employee's. Zoom's check-in is part of its client and device ecosystem, which is a natural fit for meeting rooms with a Zoom Rooms controller and less so for a parking garage.
Parking is not a desk
In Zoom's product the first-class objects are desks and meeting spaces. In Desk & Park a parking spot is an object with its own behaviour: it sits on a parking map, EV charger spots are marked as such, a permanently assigned spot is released for a day by its holder, utilisation and EV demand are reported separately, and an executive assistant can book spots for a board meeting's guests without creating accounts. The parking management guide describes the model. For a company whose daily friction is the car park, this is the comparison that matters.
Per user on top of per user
Zoom Workspace Reservation is priced per user on top of Zoom Workplace licences, which are also per user. Desk & Park is priced per space, flat: 75 spaces for 128 USD net per month whether 60 or 200 people use them, and the first 10 spaces free. A company that already pays for Zoom for everyone may find the add-on inexpensive per head; the total still scales with headcount, and the free Start plan is the quick way to compare on your own office.
Where Zoom Workplace is the better fit
Organisations standardised on Zoom end to end, with Zoom Rooms hardware in every meeting room, whose need is mainly meeting rooms and a simple desk reservation inside the client employees already have open. Adding the reservation add-on there is one setting, not a new tool.
Where Desk & Park is the better fit
Offices where parking, EV chargers and executive spaces are part of the problem; teams that want a browser-only tool with QR check-in and no client dependency; companies that prefer a flat per-space price and a security review that can point at an isolated database. FAQ
Can Desk & Park replace Zoom Workspace Reservation while we keep Zoom for meetings?
Yes. Desk & Park is independent of the video platform: meeting-room calendars sync with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and bookings are posted to Slack or Microsoft Teams channels. Zoom stays the meeting tool; Desk & Park runs the desks, parking and rooms.
Does Desk & Park need an app on every employee's phone?
No. Employees book, check in and scan QR stickers from the web app in their phone browser; there is nothing to install. An Android app exists as an option for push notifications.
How does the QR check-in work in practice?
Every desk and parking spot has a printed QR sticker. Scanning it within 60 minutes before to 60 minutes after the booking start checks the booking in; scanning a free space books it to the end of the day and checks in at once; scanning a taken space shows until when and offers the nearest free ones. A booking not checked in is released automatically.
What does each cost for 100 employees and 50 desks?
Desk & Park: the Standard plan, 128 USD net per month for up to 75 spaces, whatever the headcount. Zoom: 100 Workspace Reservation add-on licences at the listed per-user rate on top of 100 Zoom Workplace licences, as of October 2026; some Zoom bundles include the add-on, so check your contract.
